Athletics

Eastman Recreation offers a variety of team sports for Eastman employees, retirees and contractors and their families. We promote competitive leagues to build strong relationships between co-workers and within the Eastman Recreation community. Members of Eastman Recreation may also reserve a gym

Currently, we offer basketball, softball and volleyball. We also host summer youth programs for baseball and softball.

Basketball

Eastman Recreation offers a coed basketball league each year. The league is restricted to Eastman employees and contractors because games are played within the plant perimeter. They are held in the Building 89 gym on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, starting in October and ending in March.

Volleyball

We offer women's and coed volleyball leagues and an open volleyball tournament. The leagues consist of six-player teams and are open to the public for an additional $5 fee for non-Eastman Recreation members.

Games are on Mondays, starting in October and ending in March. Games are played at Kingsport’s V.O. Dobbins Community Center, Lynn View Community Center and John Adams Elementary School.

Youth baseball and softball

The Summer Youth Program is a fun and relaxed atmosphere where children can develop their baseball and softball skills with the help of some of the best middle and high school coaches in our region.

Registration information for the 2024 season will be posted here next spring.

  • The program consists of T-ball (boys, ages 5–6, and girls, ages 5–7), three boys’ baseball leagues (minor league, ages 7–9; American, ages 10–12; and national, ages 13–17), and two girls’ softball leagues (slow pitch, ages 8–12, and fast pitch, ages 13–17). Some leagues may not be offered if the number of registered participants is too low.
  • The program begins the day after Memorial Day each year, and students play on Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday during the day and Wednesday evenings.
  • Rules, rosters, and schedules are available on TeamSnap at the beginning of each season.
