Reservations for picnic shelters and camping must be made by calling (423) 229-3771 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The office is closed 11:30 a.m. to noon daily for lunch.

Bays Mountain COVID-19 Guidelines Form
Bays Mountain Recreation area offers a unique picnic area with several amenities. We can accommodate your group picnics, birthday parties or if you just need a place to get away and dip your toes in the creek we have a spot for you. We offer covered picnic shelters, playgrounds, a softball field, basketball court, three volleyball courts, several shuffle board courts and horseshoe pits.
Picnic Shelter Reservations: Picnic shelters can be reserved in person at the Recreation office in the Toy F. Reid Employee Center or by calling ext. 3771 (423-229-3771). Must have reservation to access. Reservations will be accepted beginning the first business day of January each year. Picnic shelters will be opening April 1, 2021 with a closing date of November 21, 2021. No access is allowed after the close date.
There are two time periods per day to select from, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Shelter reservations are limited to only one time period and one shelter per day for the same group. You are responsible for clean-up of your shelter area when your event has ended. Please follow all guidelines.
Picnic Shelters: All shelters have outdoor grills, lights, benches, and electrical outlets.

For the most comfort, bring your lawn chairs to seat more than the minimum listed above for each unit.
Camping: Visit our Camping Club section
Eastman Lodge: The Eastman Lodge is reserved for company business, division & departmental parties, recreation clubs and approved professional societies. It is not available for private use.
Two Comfort Stations: Rest room facilities with water fountain. Bagged ice is available at comfort station #1 at a nominal price. Please do NOT take ice from the park.
Recreation Equipment: Equipment can be obtained from the caretaker. Your recreation pass is required to check out equipment.
